have you been inside a

have you been inside a classroom recently? do you know any school age children? we're talking about the education of actual people, our children. "tax socialists" are looking out for the future of our state, i wonder who the NO TAXES WHATSOEVER crowd are looking out for.. certainly only themselves. Pathetic.

It's the same old story.

It's the same old story. Each and every time the tax socialists want more funding they go after Education and/or Public Safety. The areas where they will find the most sympathy from the public. If they can get the education taxes extended then they won't have to cut taxes elsewhere to make a budget work. When I'm able to predict their next move then it must be true.

It is always amusing that the people who whine and complain about taxes [even though their tax burden is significantly less than it was just 30 years ago], complain about the adequacy of the services from government that they do get, are also among the first to blame government for not fixing problems created by the lack of government. No oil spill or mining disaster was ever caused by safety regulations. No bank or market collapse was ever caused by the existence of regulations to protect consumers. No one was ever poisoned by food or drugs because of the requirement for testing. No child was ever left to wallow in ignorance because of public education. Oil spills and mine disasters occur because private companies evade their responsibility and "conservates" vote to cut funding. Banks and stock brokers ruin the market because "conservates" vote to gut regulation and oversight. Children do not succeed in schools because "conservates" vote to cut school funds, increase class sizes and shorten school years, and then, with the complicity of parents, expect the schools to unilaterally convert their children in to the scholars that they themselves never were.
