Lyle Parrish

Lyle Norman Parrish was born on Aug. 4, 1934, and went to be with the Lord on Jan. 3,

2011.

Lyle was born in Bell to Mildred and Jean Parrish. He met the love of his life, Gloria Severance, at Bell High School. They were married June 11, 1955. They had three sons, Michael, Mark and Mitchell, while he was attending college at USC.

Lyle started working for Von’s markets during high school in Southern California. He retired in 1998. He then moved to Mariposa when he became active in Rotary, being best known as the club comedian. He was also also active in the Ponderosa Basin Chapel where he served as a Bible school teacher.

He was survived by his wife, his three sons, granddaughter, Christina Parrish; and grandson, Steven Parrish, both of Southern California; daughter-in-law, Janette Parrish of Mariposa; sister, Patricia Parrish of Mariposa; brother, Judge Dick Parrish of Mariposa; sister-in-law, Elaine Parrish of Mariposa; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Larry Severance; and sister-in-law, Alice Severance of Southern Califonrnia.

A celebration of Lyle’s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ponderosa Basin Chapel. A luncheon will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Camp Royal Scholarship Fund.
