Henry 'Hank' Campbell

Henry “Hank” Campbell passed away peacefully in his sleep Dec. 9, 2010. He was 57.

He was one of 12 children born to Ed and Betty Campbell in Willows on Aug. 31, 1953. Hanks was a Vietnam-era veteran for nine years and retired after 26 years of loyal service to the California Highway Patrol in 2008. If asked what his greatest accomplishment was, he would say being “G-Pa” to his four grandsons, whom he adored.

Hank leaves behind his father, Ed; brothers, Ed. Jr., Michael, Richard, Joe, Billy, Mark, Robert, Kevin, and their spouses; and his sister, Margaret; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Hank leaves behind the “lights” of his life: his sons, Scott Campbell of San Diego, James Campbell of Turlock and Derek Campbell of Mariposa. Also missing Hank are his daughters-in-law, Wella, Angela and Tricia. His beloved grandsons, Kyle, Zachary, Taylor and Camren miss their “G-Pa.” Most of all, Hank will be missed by his wife of 33 years, Kris Campbell.

A viewing is set for Friday, Dec. 17 from 2 to 7 p.m at Mariposa Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Hank’s life will be held at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, Building A on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m.

Any donations can be sent to the CAHP Widows and Orphans Fund, 2030 V Street, Sacramento, CA 95818.
