Kind of off-season to pull

Kind of off-season to pull off such a climb, but I'm so glad nobody was killed. The story beggs the question: who paid for the rescue? The rescuees are unlikely to have the resources to do so and I'm sure it adds up to a pretty penny. Why should the tax-payers pay? I'm not advocating we let climbers die on the rock for lack of funds, but they should be required to buy an insurance policy before getting a climbing permit as part of the cost of the trip. Anybody with that kind of tolerance for risk should not take their chances while hanging from our pocketbook, unless we enable them to do so that is.
