Passed away August 27, 2010 after a short illness. He was born in Oakland, CA on October 30, 1935 and moved to Mariposa in 1977 after riding the Mariposa “Run For The Gold” Endurance Ride in 1976.

His family was responsible for the ride being held from 1998 until 2008.
He loved riding his horses and was active with the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Posse, Mariposa Pioneer Wagon Train, Mariposa County 4-H, Mariposa Mountain Riders, California State Horsemen’s Association,
North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC), American Endurance Riders Conference (AERC) and the
Western States Trail Foundation (TEVIS).

He is survived by his wife Mary, Brother, Ronald (Terri) Theodore, of Wellington, NV, four children, Julia (Randy) Richard, and Eileen (Rodney) Bissmeyer of Mariposa, Matthew (Laura) Theodore of Valley Springs and Timothy (Claire) Theodore of Millville, CA. Grandchildren, Luke (Deanna)
Theodore and Kurt (Elena) Theodore of Valley Springs; Rylee and Emmett Theodore of Millville, CA, Corrie (Ryan) Coldwell of Sidney, Nebraska, Hillary and Travis Richard, Kristina, Lonnie and Jamie
Bissmeyer. Great Grandchildren Halee, Khoen and Rhyker Theodore.

Nephews Daniel Theodore, San Francisco and Rick Theodore of Reno. Niece’s, Teri Theodore (David) Hanks, Shana, Calene, Kelly and
Lura Theodore and Loretta (Raymond) Marean. Great Nephew, Daniel Theodore. Great Niece’s, Cydnie Theodore and Sierra and Cheyanne Marean.

He was preceded in death by his Father, George Theodore (1978) Mother, Esma Theodore, (1988), Brothers, Gary Eddy Theodore (1976), Gilbert “Finney” Jahnigan Theodore (1982) and 1st Wife Elizabeth
Theodore (1987).

Services will be at 10:00 AM, September 25, 2010 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 5089 Cole Road, Mariposa, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Ethos Youth Center % Yosemite Bank, in Memory of Richard Theodore.
