The community preparations are underway for the 24th annual Hornitos Flea Market to be held on Sunday, Oct. 3. Gates open to the public at 7 a.m. No dogs area allowed in the sale area.

Sponsored by the Hornitos Patrons Club, members are responsible for numerous projects and activities in Hornitos and Mariposa County. Money was donated to the Salvation Army for Haiti, medical emergency kit for Hornitos, student trips for Mariposa FFA, two high school graduation scholarships, a large refrigerator for Stag Hall, weed abatement of the cemetery, foster care, termite spraying of Stag Hall, field trips for Cathey’s Valley School and the preservation of history in Hornitos with maps and plaques.

The club also hosts the All Souls Day candle lighting ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 2, and the 62nd annual enchilada dinner on Saturday, March 5.
