Lester Bridges, Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce president and recent retiree of Napa Auto Parts, shared a PowerPoint presentation of his recent cross country trip - by bicycle - with local Rotarians.

From the waters of San Francisco Bay to the Atlantic in Portsmouth, NH, Bridges rode highways and byways for 51 days across America. Of the 29 riders who started out, 26 completed the journey with only three suffering injuries sufficient to send them home.

Bridges related that this journey was a long-held dream, and one he realized could be possible after he rode the coast of Oregon.
