My name is Franz Wall. I am 16 and in 10th grade. This is my first year in Triangle 4-H poultry. I have learned a lot in my first year of poultry. I have learned about different parts and breeds of poultry, as well as how to show them. I am currently enrolled in the Boy Scouts of America. This year our troop went to the top of El Capitan in Yosemite. In May, I bought a beautiful drake, and I named him SilverWing. I have taken special care of my drake and given him a pond and playmates. Along with his normal food, I give him lettuce, corn and other kitchen treats. I have learned that this enhances his muscles and makes him taste better.

I would like to invite you to the 2010 Mariposa County Fair the theme this year is “Big Time in a Small Town.” It will start on Friday, Sept. 3 and end on Monday, Sept. 6. Please come and enjoy. I will start showing on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. in the poultry barn. The auction will start at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Following the auction, all buyers are invited to a complimentary dinner.
