Saturday, Aug. 7, at Coulterville Park, at the Shindig, was a fun time. Many wonderful and good people were in attendance, including many volunteers from the chamber of commerce. One of those was Peter Schimmelfennig. He was “on” that day, at his best. I have had the honor and privilege to be in his presence many times in the last few years. He has not once disappointed me in his command of the podium. He honors guests, dignitaries, heroes, talents, state, county and city officials. When it is serious, he is. When it is comedy, he is funny. Peter is an asset to Mariposa County. His dedication to, for and about this county truly amazes me.
