FNL recruits mentors
The recruitment process is underway for the Mariposa County Friday Night Live Mentoring program. The program partners high schoolaged mentors with middle school-aged protégés and provides opportunities for young people to be in ongoing, mutually beneficial, caring relationships, and helps strengthen the student’s resiliency to challenges in life.
The program engages the students in opportunities to develop leadership skills and a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle through alternative activities and involvement in their community. The focus is on changing community norms related to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, as well as preventing and reducing harm to young people and community members.
The group meets once a week at Mariposa County High School under the supervision of the FNL Mentoring coordinator and school advisors.
