LA medical pot distributors want more outlets

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Medical marijuana operators want more pot dispensaries in Los Angeles.

The operators asked the City Council on Tuesday to allow more dispensaries, saying many pot distributors will simply operate illegally.

Only 41 of the city's 169 applicants have met medical marijuana clinic standards and are allowed to remain in business.

But marijuana dispensary operators and supporters said 41 clinics isn't enough for the nation's second-largest city. Councilman Bill Rosendahl agreed that the city needs to re-examine the city imposed limit.

The city attorney's office says it is not enforcing the 41-clinic limit until the courts rule on its validity.

Your comment shows your level

Your comment shows your level of knowledge, or should I say lack of knowledge, on this subject. The people of California didn't vote to allow heroin shops but they did permit the citizens to use medical marijuana. Soon, it will most likely be legal for everyone as studies show its' benefits. My guess is that you frequent the liquor stores which are legal but sell far more dangerous products. If you don't need marijuana for your health, then let those who do alone.

I'm really looking forward to

I'm really looking forward to the future when we can complain that the benevolent Govt. has restricted the number of heroin shops allowed in San Francisco. "Hey Joe, the Mayor says we can only have one heroin shop per 100 people, what an outrage" May God help us all.
