2010-09-02 / Friends and Family

With an increase in U.S. Armed Forces veterans seeking higher education opportunities, Merced College has relocated and expanded its Veterans’ Resource Center.

The center, which is now housed in the Student Union Building, is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Veterans’ Resource Center has an on-site veterans certifying official to assist veterans with their needs. Many services and programs are available to veterans, including access to a resource library, counseling, computer assistance, and assistive technology for individuals with special needs. Veterans also have opportunities to network with their peers and to visit with representatives from veterans’ organizations.

For more information, contact veterans services certifying official Darlene Ford at 384-6113.
