Aug. 23: •There was an injured fawn on Triangle Road. •A dead horse was on Highway 132. •Someone called about a horse in distress on Indian Peak Road. •A verbal dispute ended with an arrest at John C. Fremont Hospital.

Aug. 24: •A bear was in a tree on Fournier Road. •Dispatch took a burglary report on Summit Road. •Threats and harassment were reported in Mariposa. •An intoxicated person was arrested on Greeley Hill Road.

Aug. 25: •There was a bag of trash on Highway 49 South. •A cow and goat were loose on Lakeside Drive. •There was a drunk driver on Darrah Road. •A child was found on Cloud’s Rest Road.

Aug. 26: •There was a motorcycle accident on Ernst Road. •Elder fiduciary abuse was reported to Adult Protective Services. •Deputies took a dog bite report on Hospital Road. •A motorcycle versus vehicle accident was reported on Highway 140 at 10th Street.

Aug. 27: •A paycheck was stolen at Cedar Lodge. •A horse was stuck in a fence on Meadow Lane. •Timber was stolen on Jerseydale Road. •A bear broke in the back door of a home on East Whitlock Road.

Aug. 28: •A bear broke into a garage on Tip Top Road. •Aggressive dogs were loose on Cuneo Road. •A woman was screaming on Coachman Road. •There was an unknown disturbance on Meadow Lane.

Aug. 29: •There was a prowler at a home on Highway 49 North. •Shots were fired on Romero Street. •A three-legged dog was lost on Hidden Springs Road. •There was an animal problem on Buckeye Road.

The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of last week’s calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
