On Aug. 26, Mariposa County Sheriff’s Deputies and the California Highway Patrol responded to a residence on White Rock Road in Mariposa County for a residential burglary and stolen vehicle report. The victim reported that he left his residence earlier in the day, and upon returning home he found that his house had been ransacked and numerous items had been taken including a 2005 Ford F150 pick-up.

While investigating the crime, deputies contacted two individuals whose vehicle had broken down on White Rock Road. While questioning the individuals, deputies were able to determine that one of the subjects had been involved in the burglary. Deputies proceeded to arrest 19-yearold Robert Choin of Coarsegold for conspiracy, burglary and being ender the influence of a controlled substance.

Through their investigation deputies were able to determine that 21-year-old Joshua Rosales of Fresno had also been involved in the burglary and theft of the vehicle. Based upon information obtained from witnesses, deputies believed that Rosales was probably still in possession of the stolen vehicle and was possibly headed toward Fresno County.

Fresno County law enforcement agencies were advised of the investigation, and at approximately 11:30 p.m. Fresno County Deputies located the stolen vehicle which was being driven by Rosales. He was arrested and transported to the Mariposa County Jail where he was booked for grand theft auto, burglary, a Fresno County warrant and for being a parolee at large.
