Tournament benefits Rotary Scholarship
The Mariposa Rotary Club has announced that its annual Mollie Suh Yaley Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Sept. 11, at the Sierra Meadows Country Club. All proceeds from the tournament are dedicated to the Mollie Suh Yaley Scholarship Fund, which is administered by the Mariposa Rotary Club.
All area residents are invited to participate in the tournament, which is open to golfers of all ability levels. The team best-shot format makes it fun for novices and experts alike. The entry fee covers 18 holes of golf, motorized cart, contests on several holes, continental breakfast, snacks, an awards dinner, and a high quality tee prize. For more information and a player application form, visit www.mariposarotary. org.
This scholarship started out as one $500 scholarship awarded to a Mariposa County High School senior in Mollie’s memory. Thanks to the support from this annual golf tournament and other contributions to the fund, Rotary now is able to award two $6,500 scholarships annually, one to a senior girl and one to a senior boy.
Tax deductible contributions to the scholarship fund may be sent to the Mariposa Rotary Club, Inc., P. O. Box 334, Mariposa, CA 95338. Checks should be made payable to the Mollie Suh Yaley Scholarship Fund.
