Lucille Palmer, a lifetime resident of Mariposa, passed away Aug. 19. She was 79.

Lucille was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Madera County. She was a homemaker. She loved gardening, gambling, and raising cattle and chickens.

She was survived by six children, nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Palmer, on Oct. 26, 2005; and her husband on May 24, 2003.

A memorial service in Lucille’s honor will be held Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Mariposa Cemetery. A remembrance of Lucille and potluck for friends and family will be held at Jill Bull’s house (Lucille’s daughter) after the services. For information, contact Bull at 966-8205.
