Aug. 9: •Deputies were alerted to be on the lookout for a stolen motorcycle at the Woodland Market. •There was a sick bobcat on Coachman Road. •Dispatch took a barking dog report on Hospital Road. •There was an assault on Highway 140.
Aug. 10: •There was a rattlesnake on Buckeye Road. •A grass fire was reported on Ranchito Drive. •Deputies responded to an assault report at the Roadhouse in Mariposa. •There was a disturbance in Greeley Hill.
Aug. 11: •Bears were at the White Chief Mountain Lodge in Fish Camp. •Two wild pigs were on Bear Valley Road. •Utilities were stolen on Usona Road. •There was a disturbance on Darrah Road.
Aug. 12: •There was a beligerant customer at a business in Coulterville. •A motor home was on fire on Usona Road. •Someone could see smoke in the Boyer Road area. •A tortoise was lost on Usona Road.
Aug. 13: •An attempted assault report was taken at the dispatch office. •Mail theft was reported on Buckeye Road. •Someone refused to leave at 12th and Bullion Streets. •Campers were out of bounds in La Grange.
Aug. 14: •A bank bag was stolen on Grist Road. •A cat was stuck in a drain on Highway 140. •There was a problem with a bear on Henness Circle. •A disturbance was reported on a houseboat at McClure Point.
Aug. 15: • A vandalism report came in from Yosemite Falls Road. •There was a traffic accident on Harris Cutoff Road. •Trespassing was occurring on Colorado Road. •Noisy and under the influence campers were reported in El Portal.
The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of last week’s calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
