NMCHC breakfast offered this weekend

Pancakes, eggs and country music will be on the menu on Sunday, Aug. 8 at the Old School House in historic Coulterville, located at the corner of Broadway and Cemetery Streets. Breakfast is served from 8 to 11 a.m. on the second Sunday of every month. Join as a museum member that morning and your meal is “on the house.”

Enjoy a generous serving of eggs, ham or sausage, pancakes, fresh fruit and beverage for $5 for adults, $3 for children or a family package for $15 (two adults and two children). Pancakes are all you can eat.

The proceeds of these monthly breakfasts are used to maintain and operate the museum, located at the intersection of Highways 49 and 132 (base of the John Muir Route). Currently the museum is focusing on some waterproofing and roof repairs before the rainy season returns.

In addition to the free drawing for a complimentary breakfast held each month and the normal $1 raffle tickets for home baked goodies and assorted items that can be won on the spot, raffle tickets remain available for a chance to win a Gentron 3000 watt portable gas generator, complete with a battery powered electric start.

Tickets are $1 each. This raffle continues through the December breakfast, and the winner will not need to be present to win. Tickets are also available at the museum during regular hours of operation, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Northern Mariposa County History Center (NMCHC) was established as a non-profit charitable organization in 1976 with the history center opening to the public in 1980. Visited by thousands each year, including international travelers from South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, the various displays and photos provide an authentic glimpse of the life and times of the pioneers who helped settle the area in the early 1800s and those who traveled west during the 1849 California Gold Rush. Memberships and volunteer opportunities are available. Call (209) 878-3750 for more information or visit online at www.coultervillemuseum. org.
