Spotlight Call of the Week: July 31, Structure fire call on Highway 49 South. Fire was sparked by clothing placed to close to a wall heater that had been turned on. A quick acting deputy with the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Department was able to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher and a garden hose. The home sustained $3,500 in damages and $1,200. in personal damages. All family members were unharmed and allowed to continue to occupy the home.
