Music continues on the green this weekend
“SMILEY MOUNTAIN,” PICTURED ABOVE, WILL PERFORM AT MARIPOSA EVENINGS ON SATURDAY.
The Mariposa County Arts Council, along with its sponsors, continues the 2010 season of Cousin Jack’s Mariposa Evenings with “Mariposa Rhed and The Wildcats,” the “mother-lode of classic rock” cover band on Friday, July 30. On Saturday, July 31 it presents “Smiley Mountain,” experts at playing and singing traditional and contemporary bluegrass/gypsy music – a perennial favorite at Mariposa Evenings.
All performances for Mariposa Evenings will be held at the Mariposa County Arts Park, located on Highway 140, between Fourth and Fifth Streets, in downtown Mariposa. There is free parking on Fifth Street, just a short distance along the Creek Walkway to the park, which will also provide handicapped access.
Tips are encouraged and appreciated. Each performance will begin at 7 p.m. Mariposa Evenings is made available through donations by local businesses, which are featured in the Mariposa Evenings program. Audience members should bring a lawn chair or blanket for park seating.
