Catfish dinner set in La Grange

The third annual catfish dinner will be held Saturday Aug. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the IOOF Hall on Main Street, sponsored by the La Grange Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge #65.

Besides deep fried catfish the menu also includes cornbread, coleslaw salad and corn on the cob. There will be coffee, iced tea or lemonade with ice cream cups for dessert, all for $10.

Along with the food festivities there will be a raffle drawing. Tickets are a $1 donation or six for $5. Dinner and raffle tickets available at the door or ahead of time at the La Grange Mercantile, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or call 853-2027.

The Odd Fellows monthly breakfast is the second Sunday of the month, on Aug. 8. From 7 to 11 a.m. the menu is biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes O'Brien all for $6, with complimentary coffee, orange juice and hot chocolate. The Rebekahs of La Grange Lodge #323 have their breakfast the third Sunday, Aug. 15, same price and hours, featuring ham and cheese omelette and pancakes with biscuits and gravy as well.
