Elias Gann

Elias Gann was born on Nov. 27, 1935, in the Dalton Ranch of Madera, to the late Elias and Marie Gann (Saling). Elias recently passed away on Sunday, July 18, at home in Mariposa.

Elias had worked at a Chevron gas station. He then served in the Army, later after that Elias worked for Anconda copper mine in Nevada. He also worked in logging and finally retired from Yosemite National Park after 30 years of service.

Elias was preceded in death by both his parents Elias and Peggy Gann; his sisters, Adrienne Thatcher and Peggy Marie Sissie Gann; his two brothers, Walter Teed and Amos Ray Gann; and two nephews, Ray and Kenneth Gann.

Elias is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nell Gann; his daughter, Deborah Gann-Phillips of Laramie, WY; his brother, Terry Gann of Mariposa; his sisters, Sandy Johnston of Oklahoma City, OK; Lois Lowrance of Hanford, and Susan Riggar of Santa Rosa. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Kenneth Wright of Mariposa; and two granddaughters, three great grandsons, one great-granddaughter, 24 nephews and nieces, and 46 great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is pending for Elias.
