Steven C. Wadenius
Stephen Curtis Wadenius was born December 7, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minn. to Curtis and Lorraine Wadenius. Steve passed away on July 11, 2009 at the age of 63, of a sudden illness.
Steve moved with his family from Minnesota the summer of 1963, to Corona. He graduated from Corona High School in 1964. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy, and was stationed in Japan unitl 1968, when he returned to California. Upon his return from the Navy he traveled and lived in many places throughout California and also Texas. In 1998 he moved to Mariposa to be closer to his children. Steve held many jobs over the years including, security management, golf course maintenance and most recently campground host at Indian Flat campground in El Portal.
Steve loved the mountains and enjoyed fishing, camping and hiking. He loved to take his children on adventures camping when they were young. He was a very kind and compassionate man. There wasn't a person that he couldn't become friends with. Steve was always very easygoing and laid back.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Wadenius. Steve is survived by his mother, Lorraine Wadenius of Corona; his two sisters, Carol (Jerry) McDaniel of Corona, and Sue (Larry) Priellipp of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; his two children, Autumn (Charlie) Hutchings of Mariposa, Kurt Wadenius of Mariposa, and what he considered "the best birthday present ever" his grandaughter, Kylee Hutchings. Steve also leaves behind four nephews and many dear friends.
There will be a celebration of life at his daughter Autumn's home on July 17. For information call 742- 7258.
