Swap meet set for homeschoolers

Eastern Madera County is home to more than 2,000 homeschooling families and on July 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be the semi-annual homeschooling swap meet. This will mark the first year that the swap meet is being held indoors. It will be a oneday event in the vacant Kragen building in the Von’s shopping center, next to Payless Shoes.

During the day, families will be able to sell the education materials they used during the prior semester and buy those materials they will need for the upcoming period. It’s also an opportunity for families to swap teaching ideas and offer support to their neighboring homeschooling families.

Residents who have considered homeschooling may want to drop in and chat with these “hands on” parents. Businesses in the county who have specialized products will be offered the opportunity to meet these families and Willow Bridge Books will be offering new products from publishers of homeschooling materials.

Registration to sell material is free. Those interested can register at www.willowbridgebooks. com.
