June 28: •A car ran into the Comfort Inn. •A vehicle was vandalized on Eighth Street. •There was a pool of blood on Martin Road. •Someone found a bear dog on Buffalo Gulch Road. •Deputies took a dog bite report on Castillo Way.

June 29: •Someone found a baby bird at Lake McSwain. •There was a strong odor on Ashworth Road. •A vegetation fire was reported on Ashworth Road. •A bull was in a yard on Bear Valley Road. •A steer was on Highway 140 near Triangle Road.

June 30: •Eight goats were loose on Fairgrounds Road. •A cell phone was stolen on Hite’s Cove Road. •Bear problems were reported on Snyder Ridge Road. •Deputies took an assault report on Highway 140.

July 1: Registration tags were stolen on Indian Peak Road. •A fence was vandalized on Ernst Road. •Officers were asked to be on the lookout for a murder suspect. •Shooting was reported on Woodview Lane. •Yelling was reported on Highway 140.

July 2: •A bear was on Highway 49 South. •Power lines were down on Morningstar Lane. •Deputies responded to help Tuolumne County officials with a public health hazard. •A mountain lion was seen on East Westfall Road.

July 3: •Dispatch took a report of elder abuse from Granite Lane. •People were being loud at the visitors’ center. •There was a boating accident at Lake McClure. •A possible drunk driver was reported in Mariposa.

July 4: •A car was reportedly stolen on Ninth Street. •There was a vegetation fire on Jessie Street and another on Merced Falls Road. •Four horses were loose on Highway 140. •Threats were reported at Stage Stop.

The above listed calls are actual reports to Mariposa County Sheriff’s Dispatch. These are just a sampling of yesterday's calls, but are in no way all inclusive. The intent of this log is to demonstrate the wide array of issues with which Mariposa County law enforcement must deal, in addition to investigation of serious crimes and their routine patrol.
