Spotlight Call of the Week: Saturday, July 3, Electrical burning smell and smoke check. Residents of a home on Mark Lee Road called 911 for assistance after their home experienced three large electrical surges followed by the smell of something burning and seeing smoke in their garage. Mariposa County Fire Department members of Mormon Bar and Midpines were able to locate the source; a faulty water heater by using thermal imaging cameras. MCFD members turned off the main electrical supply to the water heater and the heater itself to prevent further damage to the home.
