Introduction to theatre, is scheduled for the fall semester of Merced College classes offered in Mariposa. Registration will be on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mariposa County High School counseling office. Students can also register on line or at the main campus in Merced.

The class is open to anyone, including high school students. Drama-01 Introduction to Theatre satisfies three units of the humanities requirement for general education, and is transferrable to any four-year university. This is not an acting class, but rather an introduction to the art of theatre that delves into the nature of theatrical production, elements of dramatic structure, and the contributions of the playwright, actor, director, designer, technician, and audience.
