Teens cycle into town

In the late afternoon on Saturday, June 26 a huge group of teens will pedal into Mariposa. These young people are bicycling over 1,650 miles on a three-week journey following the Pacific Mountain Ranges from Seattle, Wash. to Los Angeles. The group, named “de- Cycles” is a 40-year-old interfaith Christian program based in Bloomington, Ind.

Everyone is invited to experience Sunday morning worship with them on June 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Mariposa United Methodist Church, as the church hosts the group. Hungry, sweaty and weary, these riders minister to each other, the public and church congregations all along their way.

This is an opportunity to meet these visiting young people, share in their joy and song, and hear the riders tell their stories of the mountains, hot sun, long distances and never giving up. After worship, everyone is invited for a potluck lunch.

The church is at Sixth and Bullion Streets in downtown Mariposa. For information, call the church at 966-3419.
