The young Mariposa girls’ softball team placed three players on the first team in recent All-Southern Athletic League voting by the league’s coaches.

Only one senior earned All- SAL honors for Mariposa. Senior shortstop Morgan Foley was selected to the first team, as were junior catcher Haley Guenthart and standout hurler junior Nicole Johnson.

The Lady Grizzlies finished in third place in league play and earned a slot in the playoffs. In the first round, they topped Forest Lake Christian, 2-0, before falling in the semifinals to eventual section champion, Capitol Christian.

Two other Mariposa players were named in the league’s honorable mention roster. Sophomore Calee Peracca and freshman Carissa Leonard received those honors.
