Theresa D. Streller

Theresa Dolores Streller of Mariposa passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31 after a long and courageous battle with multiple health issues. Terry, as she was known to family and friends, was born of Polish immigrants in Buffalo, NY on Aug. 7, 1931, and was the youngest of three daughters. She grew up in Buffalo where she met and married her husband, Paul.

In 1963 they moved to Aptos, where they owned and operated a successful business; Aptos Office Equipment & Supply for 25 years. Terry’s proudest business accomplishment was being proprietress of “Country Americana,” one of Northern California’s finest country gift and home décor shops. She was a member of the Aptos Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Woman of the Year in 1980.

Terry and Paul retired in 1995 and relocated to Mariposa. Terry has been active in the Butterfly Garden Club where she served as president from 2003-2005. In her later years she was a member of the Better Breathers Club of Oakhurst.

Terry is survived by her loving husband, Paul, of 57 years; her children Pamela Arthur, Roberta Crowley, Mark Streller, Lisa McElroy, their spouses and her seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mariposa Funeral Home, 4981 Ninth Street in Mariposa. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Butterfly Garden Club scholarship fund, P.O. Box 1271, Mariposa, CA 95338 or the American Lung Association, 4948 No. Arthur Ave., Fresno, CA 93705.
