The “Pride of the Grizzly Band” Spring Concert last Thursday evening was the best. The Show Band played nine pieces and the Concert Band played ten great pieces, plus two encores with standing ovations.

The leadership of Dr. Phil Smith, the all band boosters, parents, music department and Chairman Rod Fiester, provided the best band concert by MCHS Band we’ve ever heard. The last scheduled piece, ”Mars – (Bringing of War)” brought chills and made you feel you were watching a war movie.

If you weren’t at the concert, you missed a great band concert filled with wonder music played by outstanding MCHS musical students who played their hearts out for a great arranger/director, Dr. Phil Smith. Our prayers are with you for a speedy recovery Dr Smith.
