Lake Yosemite?

THIS YEAR’S HEAVY, LATE SNOWPACK IS HAVING A DRAMATIC EFFECT ON YOSEMITE VALLEY AS THE WEATHER HEATS UP. THE VALLEY REMAINED UNDER A FLOOD WARNING FOR MUCH OF LAST WEEKEND AND EARLY THIS WEEK AS WARM TEMPERATURES MELTED SNOW THAT FELL AS RECENTLY AS TWO WEEKS AGO. ABOVE, YOSEMITE FALL ROARS AS VISITORS TRY TO CROSS THE SUBMERGED MEADOW. THE SWOLLEN MERCED RIVER PEAKED AT 10.4 FEET ON MONDAY, AND PARK OFFICIALS BELIEVE THE WATER IS BEGINNING TO RECEDE AFTER REACHING SOME OF THE HIGHEST LEVELS THEY CAN REMEMBER IN FIVE OR SIX YEARS.
