CodeRED updates urged

In anticipation of what could be an extreme fire season, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office wants to be able to notify residents in case of an emergency. Anyone who recently moved, changed their home or cellular telephone number or who would like to add a new telephone number to be associated with their address, the sheriff’s office encourages residents to visit the Web site at (www.mariposacounty. org/sheriff), and click on the CodeRED Web site link located at the top of the page to add or update emergency contact information. All updated contact information must be added through the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Web site.

Anyone who does not have internet access should contact a friend or family member to help add the contact information or they can visit the county libraries, sheriff’s office and sheriff’s substations to obtain a form.

The completed form can be dropped off or mailed to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s office and someone will see that the information is added to the emergency notification database. For further assistance with this request contact the sheriff’s office at 966-3615.
