The unofficial winners of the primary election are celebrating their victories following a long campaign. At the end of the night, one Mariposa County supervisor had been replaced, another retained her seat, and the county chose a new sheriff and auditor.

According to the Mariposa County Elections Department, Mariposa County’s new sheriff/coroner is Doug Binnewies.

The District 1 supervisor seat has been returned to Lee Stetson, who ousted incumbent Brad Aborn.

The contentious race for District 3 supervisor ended with a huge victory for incumbent Janet Mankins-Bibby.

Voters also selected William “Bill” Davis as Mariposa County’s new auditor. He defeated Eric Oster.
