Drug dealer busted after sale

Last Friday, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous report of a possible “drug deal” occurring at the Bootjack Market in Mariposa County. The caller provided a vehicle description for one of the individuals involved in the drug deal.

Responding deputies arrived at the Bootjack Market and observed a vehicle matching the description that had been provided by the caller. Deputies witnessed a male subject who was associated with the vehicle make contact with a female subject in another vehicle. 

Deputies contacted the male subject who was later identified as 50-year-old George Farias of Mariposa. During the investigation it was determined that Farias had sold two Hydrocodone pills to the female subject he had contacted in the other vehicle.

Deputies were able to identify the female as 34-year-old Angela Morrow of Mariposa. Morrow was later contacted by deputies and admitted to purchasing the Hydrcodone pills from Farias, but claimed that she had purchased the pills on behalf of a friend.

Farias was booked into the Mariposa County Jail for possession of a narcotic for sale and violation of probation.

Morrow was booked into the Mariposa County Jail for illegal possession of a narcotic and possession of a controlled substance.
