Head Start begins enrollment

Mariposa Head Start is now enrolling for the 2010-11 program year. Now in its 20th year serving children and families, Mariposa Head Start is a child development program which provides hands-on activities in a safe and nurturing environment.

Learning focuses on the areas of social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. Children attend a part-day, three and one-half hour session which includes meals and snack. Parents have the opportunity to learn how their child develops and grows by becoming an active participant in the program.

Head Start program’s free family services include education, health, dental nutrition and disabilities services. Low income families with children between the ages of 3 and 4.9 years qualify with priority given to children with disabilities. Anyone interested in this free program or who would like more information can call 966-6161 to schedule an appointment for an enrollment application.
