Wurzach grabs BofA honors for mathematics

JULIE WURZBACH JULIE WURZBACH Julie Wurzbach has been selected by the faculty at Mariposa County High School as the recipient of the Bank of America certificate for math. She is a senior and is the daughter of Jon and Valerie Wurzbach of Mariposa.

Wurzbach has received her academic letter and bar and is a four-year member of the California Scholarship Federation. She has been named valedictorian of her class and has received the scholarship award for straight As.

Wurzbach played three years of basketball and received honorable mention status in 2008-09. She is a member of the Spanish Club, Friday Night Live Mentoring and tutors other students. She also received an award for excellence in chemistry.

Julie plans to attend UC Merced to study mechanical engineering, and also would like to study abroad at a Spanish speaking country. She also plans to pursue a master’s degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and travel to Spain, France and Germany.
