In Tuesday afternoon's first round match of the Sac-Joaquin Section, Division VI girls' soccer playoffs in Mariposa, the Lady Grizzlies ran away from Golden Sierra, 6-1.

Junior Carrie Waheed pulled off a hat trick in the first half with 3 goals, leading Mariposa to a 5-0 advantage at the intermission. Mariposa, the second seed from the Southern Athletic League, will now probably travel to Auburn to face Forest Lake Christian, the winner of the Central Valley Christian League, if FLC was able to upend Linhurst in its first round test Tuesday afternoon. If Lindhurst prevailed, the Blazers would have to travel to Mariposa for a second round contest Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
