Assembly candidate White busted in Riverbank

Probation search finds marijuana and cocaine

Just a couple of week's ago, Jesse James White of Riverbank was at the podium in Building A at the fairgrounds during the Mariposa Gazette's Candidates' Night asking for voters' support. Now he's in jail.

During a routine probation search, law enforcement officers arrested the Riverbank City Councilman on suspicion of possession of marijuana and cocaine, along with probation violations, Friday afternoon.

White omitted the fact that he was on probation during his speech at candidates' night. According to Stanislaus County Sheriff's deputies, the amount of illegal drugs was unclear, but the amount found was enough to be considered for personal use but not enough for distribution or sales.
