Chester H. Moore

Chester H. Moore, Jr. was 93- years-old when he died April 27 in Mariposa. He was born in Pittsburgh, Penn. and was the youngest of two sons of Flossie and Chester H. Moore, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Tolosa Moore. They reaised three children: Steven Moore (wife Darla Jean), and Chester Moore III (wife Mary Joe) and a daughter, Tolosa Boxx. He has six grandchildren: Steve and Cody Moore, Natalie and Leanne Moore and Debra and Eric Boxx; and three step-grandchildren, Deanna, Jason and Jamon.

Chester was a master sergeant in the Army Air Corps Flying Tiger photo squadron during World War II. A decorated war time soldier, he was the recipient of five medals, including the Bronze Star. He had a 30-year career as an engineer at Rockwell/ Boeing Aircraft. He moved to Mariposa in 1979 to spend his retirement years and complete his life. He was a wonderful man and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
