Public hearing on CVCP to be continued
In a letter released by County CAO Rick Benson on Thursday, it was announced that the public hearing regarding the Cathey's Valley Community Plan (CVCP) and related environmental issues and requirements will be either continued or rescheduled at the May 18 meeting of the board of supervisors.
The letter is address to property owners effected by the CVCP, and says the board will not be taking action at that meeting to consider or approve the plan.
It continues: "Since the board of supervisors has received an extremely high volume of highly technical and legally complicated comments regarding the Draft Supplemental Environmentall Impact Report (EIR) on the Cathey's Valley Community Plan and, in order to comply with new state guidelines for greenhouse gases and rapidly-evolving state regulations for carbon emissions, the release of the Final EIR has been delayed. Action to approve the Cathey's Valley Community Plan cannot occur without completion of the Final EIR.
