The fifth annual El Portal Spring Clean was held the weekend of April 17 and 18. Thank you to Mark Deglomine for taking over the organizing of this successful event. We are grateful to Total Waste and Carol Shipman for donating and delivering three dumpsters. Supervisor Brad Aborn and Michelle Miller were able to find a way to cover the tipping fees and Brad also came and worked with the other volunteers on Saturday morning.

This event is an opportunity for townspeople to help those who have no other way to get items to the Mariposa Landfill or have items they can’t handle. Without the Yosemite Institute donating the use of its trucks we wouldn’t be able to transport everything to the dumpsters. Thanks again to all those named and unnamed who made this yet another great, successful clean-up.
