Books Galore! at the Mariposa County Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Library from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Reformers Unanimous - a free addictions program held at the corner of 12th and Jones Street (next to the old First Baptist Church), every Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, call 966-5780 or 966-5542.

Narcotics Anonymous - meets at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (downstairs) from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Al-Anon - Lunch bunch meets the first Friday of the month at 12:30 p.m. For information, call Jane at 966-3423.

Bingo - at the American Legion Hall every Friday except the first Friday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m. Only $1.50 per card, minimum of three cards. All proceeds go back to the community.

Book signing - Local author Eric VonRaeder, will sign his new book Conquering the Fear of Rejection, at Windows on the World Books and Art in downtown Mariposa at noon, immediately following the Butterfly Days parade.

Mariposa Democratic Club - meets at the Miner’s Inn at 9 a.m. for breakfast, 9:45 a.m. for the meeting. Sheriff’s candidate Mark Jones will be the speaker.

Mariposa Piece Makers - meet in the lower hall at St. Joseph’s Church. All levels of quilters welcome. 742-5427.

La Grange Odd Fellows Breakfast - at the Odd Fellows Hall from 7 to 11 a.m. For information, call 853-2128 or 853-2027.

Motherload Pistol Club - steel challenge match at 4443 Old Highway. Bring a centerfire pistol and/or a .22 pistol and lots of ammunition. Sign-ups start at 9 a.m. and the shoot starts at 9:30 a.m. Hearing and eye protection are required for all shooters and spectators. For more information, contact Mick Herman at 966-8196.

Bootjack Stompers: Square and line dance workshop at Bootjack Stompers Hall. Line dance class with George Morrell begins at 6 p.m. Square dance class for new dancers with Bill Silver from 7 to 8:15 p.m. From 8:15 to 9:30 p.m. is the mainstream and plus workshop with Silver. Upper Room Community Women’s Bible Study - meets at the senior center in Mariposa. The regular study takes place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Women of all ages are welcome, though no child care is provided.

Alcoholics Anonymous - noon and 5:30 p.m., men’s stag at 7:30 p.m. at the fellowship hall at Pioneer Village, Highways 140 and 49 South, 966-3110. Women’s group at 5:30 p.m.
