As California’s’ June Primary draws near and the candidates for our local elections are set, many voters are deciding which candidates they will support. Many editorials are written and many yard signs appear, but will the voters have enough information from the candidates directly? This is reason the AAUW, American Association of University Women, is sponsoring a candidates’ forum in the supervisors’ chambers. Please mark your calendars for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12. This is a nonpartisan forum where the public is invited to evaluate the candidates in a neutral, impartial setting.

AAUW applauds the MARIPOSA GAZETTE for hosting a forum set for May 3. The more information available, the more you, the voters, have an opportunity to learn about the candidates’ goals and positions on issues that may affect you and Mariposa County.
