Don't fix what isn't broken
June elections are once again upon us in Mariposa County. Local elections are no less important at the state or national levels, and it is with great pleasure that I endorse Janet Mankins-Bibby, a person of integrity and strong values, to once again serve our community and county for another term.
I’ve know Janet for over 20 years now, first as an involved volunteer and caring parent during by tenure at Cathey’s Valley Elementary School, and currently as a deeply committed and highly-respected county supervisor.
Janet’s individualism and firm stand on policy and law, whether regarding Yosemite Valley or Cathey’s Valley, continues to be a breath of fresh air.
Her availability and willingness to listen to those with concerns is most impressive. The dedication to the preservation of what we have here in this beautiful rural county is why she is serving a second term even now.
Her decision making at the supervisory level has always been research-based and she explains with great clarity exactly why she votes on any particular issue.
Her decisions are never based on, “Well, I think” or “That sounds good,” or “It’s about time.” Her concerns prior to taking a position focus on need and affordability, and her bottom line addresses the welfare of the diverse communities that make up this wonderful county.
Supervisor Janet-Mankins Bibby’s reelection this June will be the result of her outstanding job performance and trustworthiness, and not due to my or any other endorsement, but doing so is certainly an honor.
