A dispute over a common driveway ended with two people being stabbed with an unknown object and their assailant in jail. The incident occurred on April 12 on Watt Road.

According to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s report, a stabbing was reported about 4:10 p.m. When deputies arrived at the Watt Road home, they found a woman with wounds to her forearm and fingers. The suspect, Timothy Chenot, had returned to his own home, which is less than a tenth of a mile away.

The victim said Chenot had messed up the driveway and she and another man went to confront him about it. Before she could begin speaking, she said Chenot swung his right hand at her head and neck. She used her left arm to “protect her throat” but Chenot made contact with her forearm, and she immediately felt a sharp pain.

She said Chenot swung at her face again, and this time she blocked the advance with her left hand. Two of the fingers on that hand were cut. She told deputies that she couldn’t be sure, but thought Chenot had a box cutter.

The man with her said he attempted to push Chenot away from the woman. In that process, he was struck twice in the head. Deputies observed a scrape on the top of the man’s head and a cut on his hairline.

Deputies found Chenot at his home. He told them that the two victims were actually the aggressors. He said he went back to his residence after the altercation and called in the assault.

The victims said that Chenot said, “I’m gonna get my AK-47 and show you how it’s done here,” as he walked back to the house. They immediately left, knowing that Chenot did have firearms.

Another man, who Chenot has a restraining order against, said he heard Chenot threaten the two victims, saying “I’m gonna kill all you (expletive deleted.)”

A search of Chenot’s residence did not reveal a box cutter or AK-47. There were tools in the residence, but the report indicates that none of them had blood on them or showed signs of being recently cleaned.

Chenot was booked into the Mariposa County Jail on charges of assault causing great bodily injury and trespassing.
