Grizzlies spank Riverbank, 21-1

in Hilmar Tournament opener

Mariposa thrashed Riverbank's Bruins Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the Hilmar Touranment, 21-1.

Sophomore Derek Nady threw a 2-hitter and yielded just 1 unearned run while chalking up 6 strikeouts.

The game was called in the fourth inning with the Grizzlies still at bat.

Mariposa tangles with Waterford this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. (Wedneday), and will take on Le Grand (3:30 p.m.) and host Hilmar ( 6 p.m.) on Friday. The championship game will be played on Saturday, if the Grizzlies qualify.
