Radanovich helps spare family cabins
Congressman George Radanovich joined Natural Resources Ranking Member Doc Hastings (R-WA) in co-sponsoring the Cabin Fee Act of 2010, which establishes a new fee-setting system and fair pricing structure for family-owned cabins on National Forest lands. Currently, cabin owners are experiencing sharp fee increases due to the current fee structure and may be forced to abandon or tear down their cabin due to the soaring costs.
“For generations families on the Sierra and Stanislaus National Forests have been enjoying the recreational opportunities afforded to them through family-owned cabins. These cabins should not be become unaffordable because of a fee structure that is based on subjective appraisals.
This measure will ensure that families who own cabins in our National Forests will be able to afford and continue to enjoy the access and recreational opportunities familyowned cabins provide without the fear of excessive fee increases,” said Radanovich.
