Johnny Ray Hogan
Johnny Ray Hogan, born Oct. 11, 1943, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, March 14 with his family by his side after bravely battling Multiple Myeloma. He was 66.
He worked for the Mariposa Fair Association for 30 years and had retired in 2008. From sport activities and fairs to graduations, he was a familiar face you would see behind the scenes. He enjoyed the people he met throughout his time on this earth and was quick to lend a hand to those who needed it. He truly was a hardworking man. He was a good father and loving husband to his wife, Lilia, for 45 years. He loved his family, friends and his dogs, Peanut and Flunky.
Johnny was proceeded in death by his parents William Stanley and Bertha Alice Hogan, as well as his siblings: Donald, Carl, Geraldine and Rodney; and sisters in-law, Ruby and Lola.
Survivors include his wife Lilia; his daughters, Mary (Tom) Randall and Jennie (Paul) Reyes of Las Vegas, NV; Kim (Andy) Baader of Golden Valley, AZ; and Jesse Taylor (Dean Adams) of Mariposa; brothers, Lee (Aurora) and Norman (Donna) and his sister Barbara (Leon); brother-in-law, Clarence Davis; and sisters-inlaw, Dorothy and Ellen; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly; 12 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren and one on the way. He loved his extended family from the Fair Association.
From the bottom of their hearts, the family wishes to thank everyone for their blood donations, as well as support during Johnny’s illness and passing. They will miss him, but rejoice that he is reunited with family that he had missed for so long. Services are pending.
