The MCHS Grizzly Band will be hosting a “Play-a-thon” on the grounds of the Mariposa History Center on Saturday, March 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Band members have been collecting pledges for the event in advance as a means to pay for final expenses for their upcoming trip to Anaheim to compete in the Forum Judges Invitational Band Competition.

The event will be divided into half-hour sets with the MCHS band kicking the event off at 11 a.m. The Jazz Band will be featured mid-afternoon, while the Concert Band will reveal its festival repertoire from 4:15 to 5 p.m.

Other acts include the MCHS Chorus and Advanced Chorus and smaller groups performing throughout the day. Sugar Pine Pizza will be selling pizza during the event and donating profits to the Grizzly Band’s cause. There is no admission charge for the event.
